We celebrate Param Pujya Bhaishree's divinity through the wonder of his virtues. Each month a different writer has captured the inspirations drawn from Bhaishree's life that shed light on these beautiful virtues and help us recognise his inner being.
This month we explore Param Pujya Bhaishree's virtues of Determination & Enthusiasm.
Firm Determination and Unwavering Enthusiasm:
Nothing is impossible in this world. If one adheres resolutely to the motive behind a task, it’s achievable.
Determination is the steely resolve and steady focus on the task at hand in the most trying circumstances. It allows no room for pessimism or dejection. Unwavering enthusiasm is the ability to maintain and sustain a high level of enthusiasm from the start of the task till its completion.
Determination and enthusiasm are complementary virtues. Only where there is strong determination can there be unwavering enthusiasm, and only when there is enthusiasm, can strong determination be sustained.
Both are foundational virtues in that they lead to the acquisition of many other virtues. Determination and enthusiasm drive out laziness, the biggest adversary of success and build virtues such as patience, concentration, thinking, self-confidence, wisdom, discipline, cheerfulness, fearlessness, organisation and regularity.
If these two virtues are so important in achieving worldly success, their importance in the spiritual sphere cannot be overemphasized. A seeker’s goal of self-realisation may appear arduous at the outset but when he or she meets a true Guru and walks the path of devotion and faith with determination and enthusiasm, the goal appears magically achievable.
How can a seeker develop these virtues and sustain them? By listening to the words of the one person in whom these virtues reach their pinnacle - Param Pujya Bhaishree. And by imbibing these words and implementing them in one’s life. To help seekers develop these qualities, Bhaishree repeatedly stresses upon them in his discourses. Whenever a seeker finds himself or herself in a difficult situation or whenever negative thoughts arise, Bhaishree’s motivational words resonating with positivity drive away all fears and negativity from the mind. They break the shackles of difficulties and open the doors to success.
Unshakeable faith in one’s Satdev (true deity) and Satguru (true guru) has the subtle power to see you through tough and challenging times with enthusiasm and determination.
Bhaishree often tells us to do whatever we do with enthusiasm, and that’s evident in his life. He never utters negative words. He undertakes even the most ordinary activity with enthusiasm and achieves it with determination. Many are witness to the way he completes challenging projects and achieves miraculous outcomes by the sheer force of his will power and zeal. Some instances:
(1) In the centennial year of Param Krupaludev’s dehvilay (passing away), a biographical film, book, CD and video CD were planned. However, at the time this project was being discussed in December 1999, nobody except Bhaishree believed that the book would be ready by its deadline of May 7, 2000. Even the author of the book, Dr. Kumarpal Desai, expected the book to be ready only by September 2000. He saw no way to release the book earlier than that. However, Bhaishree remained firm that the book should be ready by May 7, 2000, or else it would not achieve its purpose. Bhaishree would motivate the team, meet Dr. Kumarpal Desai and even the printers. It was thanks to him that the book was ready for launch on April 30, 2000.
(2) Ninama’s revival: The earthquake of 26th January 2001 had caused great devastation in Gujarat. While Kutch was most affected, several villages and hamlets of Saurashtra had suffered great loss of life and property. One such village was Ninama in Sayla district, which was almost fully destroyed. The vast majority of government relief was being used in Kutch. Ninama was excluded from the relatively little help coming to Saurashtra because of some anti-social elements. The situation was worrisome. When Bhaishree heard of the matter and saw the suffering of the residents of Ninama, he promptly adopted the village and got to work. In spite of warnings from local officials on account of the anti-social elements, Bhaishree continued the mammoth work of resurrecting the village without paying any heed. He had a simple counter: “Why should 1500 people suffer due to the deeds of 20-25 unworthy people? Who will help them?”
Taking up this project was difficult enough. The other issue was that at that time, there were no concerted funds or resources for the village. Bhaishree’s overpowering will power turbocharged with enthusiasm changed all that. The physical metamorphosis was effected by sheer mental strength.
The project had an estimated cost of Rs 3 crore. How was such a large sum to be arranged so quickly? It so happened that the main trustee of the Gujarat relief fund and the trustee of Veerayatan were travelling to Kutch and were invited to Sayla on the way. When they were informed of Ninama’s plight, they pledged Rs 1 crore. The government pledged another Rs 1.5 crore. That left a balance of Rs 50 lakh. Bhaishree got us to contact the Times of India Foundation which was actively involved in humanitarian work but they did not work in collaboration with another organisation. However, on Bhaishree’s instructions, the situation was presented to the CEO of the organisation. And to everyone’s surprise, the Foundation pledged Rs 1.crore. All the development were nothing but a tribute to Bhaishree’s vision, iron will and enthusiastic pursuit of goal. Ninama could be raised and redeveloped admirably.
(3) Reviving the poorly managed government hospital Community Health Centre (CHC): The ashram faced many hiccups and hindrances when it took over the management of the government hospital CHC in Sayla. The centre needed continuous attention and intervention for a long time. Just when it seemed to begin functioning smoothly, some anti-social people created problems. This ended up getting the centre a negative report and reduced support from the government. When the ashram people looking after the Centre proposed dropping out of the centre, Bhaishree denied permission. He had a deep concern for the poor and the destitute people who visited the centre. He guided us to face the situation bravely and find solutions. He asked us to work with care and love and without any feelings of discrimination towards anyone. Thanks to his courage of conviction and refusal to be daunted, Bhaishree was proved right once again. All was well in some time and the centre became the villager’s pride and sanctum of refuge.
Today, the centre holds the top position among almost 300 such centre in the state! This is the only community health centre where a host of specialists such as gynaecologists, surgeons and paediatricians among others offer full time service.
રઢ સંકલ્પશક્તિ અને અક્ષય ઉત્સાહ
કુછ ભી નહિ અસંભવ જગ મેં, સબ સંભવ હો સકતા હૈ,
કાર્ય હેતુ યદિ કમર બાંધ લો, તો સબ કુછ હો સકતા હૈ..
કોઈ પણ કાર્યની શરૂઆત કરતાં એ કાર્ય યથાતથ્ય રીતે સફળ બનાવવા માટે દ્રઢ મનોબળ સાથે મક્કમ નિર્ધાર કરવો અને જ્યાં સુધી કાર્ય સફળતાપૂર્વક પૂર્ણ ન થાય ત્યાં સુધી ગમે તેવી વિપરીત પરિસ્થિતિ ઊભી થાય, કાર્યને સફળ કરવું એ અસંભવ લાગવા લાગે - એવા મોટા વિઘ્નો આવે છતાં, એ દ્રઢ મનોબળ અને મક્કમ નિર્ધાર ટકાવી રાખી વ્યવસ્થિત આયોજન સાથે કાર્યને પાર પાડવા માટેનાં પ્રયત્નો કરતાં થાકવું નહિ એ છે દ્રઢ સંકલ્પશક્તિ - નિશ્ચયાત્મકતા (determination).
અને કાર્યની શરૂઆત જે ઉમંગ અને ઉલ્લાસથી કરી હોય તે જ ઉમંગ અને ઉલ્લાસ કાર્ય પૂરું થાય ત્યાં સુધી એવો ને એવો જ ટકાવી રાખવો એ છે અક્ષય ઉત્સાહ (enthusiasm).
આ બંને ગુણો ખરેખર તો એકબીજાના પૂરક છે. જો દ્રઢ સંકલ્પ હોય તો જ ઉત્સાહ અક્ષય બને છે, અને ઉત્સાહ હોય તો જ સંકલ્પબળ ટકી રહે છે.
આ બંને ગુણોને ગુણસમુદાયમાં અગ્રીમ સ્થાન આપી શકે, કારણ કે આ બંને ગુણો જીવમાં જેમ જેમ વિકાસ પામે છે તેમ તેમ તે જીવ બીજા અનેક ગુણોનો સ્વામી બનતો જાય છે. સફળતાનો સૌથી મોટો શત્રુ એવો “પ્રમાદ” એ આ બંને ગુણોના વિકાસથી ટળે છે. ધીરજ, એકાગ્રતા, વિચારશક્તિ, આત્મવિશ્વાસ, વિવેક, અનુશાસન, પ્રફુલ્લિતતા, નિર્ભયતા, સુવ્યવસ્થિતતા, નિયમિતતા જેવા અનેક ગુણો પ્રગટે છે. આવી વ્યક્તિનું જીવન બીજા જીવો માટે પણ પ્રેરણાદાયી બને છે.
આ બંને ગુણો સામાન્ય સાંસારિક કાર્યને સફળ બનાવવામાં પણ જો આટલા ઉપયોગી હોય તો મુમુક્ષુ આત્માઓએ તો આ ગુણોનું મહત્ત્વ કેટલું ઊંચું આંકવું ઘટે ! મુમુક્ષુ જીવનો જે મુખ્ય લક્ષ છે - “આત્મદર્શન” તેને પ્રાથમિક દ્રષ્ટિએ સિદ્ધ કરવું ખૂબ જ વિકટ અને કપરું લાગે, પરંતુ સાચા સદગુરુ મળ્યે, ભક્તિ અને શ્રધ્ધાના માર્ગે જો દ્રઢ સંકલ્પશક્તિ અને અક્ષય ઉત્સાહ જેવા ગુણો ઉમેરાય તો ‘આત્મદર્શન’ જેવું અતિવિકટ લક્ષ પણ સરળ અને સુગમ બને છે.
મુમુક્ષુઓએ આ ગુણો પોતાના આત્મામાં કઈ રીતે વિકસાવવા અને ટકાવી રાખવાં?
જેમનામાં આ બંને ગુણો પૂર્ણાતાને પામ્યા છે એવા શ્રી સદગુરુ એટલે કે પ.પૂ. ભાઈશ્રીના વચનબળે, તેમના બોધવચનો સાંભળી તેને અંતઃકરણમાં ઉતારી જીવનમાં અનુસરતાં આ ગુણો મુમુક્ષુમાં વિકાસ પામતાં જાય છે. પ.પૂ. ભાઈશ્રી પણ મુમુક્ષુઓમાં સંકલ્પબળ અને ઉત્સાહ વધે એ માટે વારંવાર તેમના સ્વાધ્યાયો અને આશીર્વચનોમાં આ બંને ગુણો પર ખૂબ ભાર મૂકે છે. મુમુક્ષુ જીવે મુશ્કેલ પરિસ્થિતિમાં કે પછી નકારાત્મક વિચાર ઉદ્ભવે ત્યારે પ.પૂ.ભાઇશ્રીના ઉત્સાહપ્રેરક અને સકારાત્મકતાથી ઉભરાતાં બોધવચનો મનમાં જાગૃત કરતા તે નકારાત્મક વિચારો દૂર થઈ શકે છે અને મુશ્કેલ પરિસ્થિતિમાં પણ સફળતાનો માર્ગ શોધી શકાય છે.
સાચા દેવ અને સદગુરુ પ્રત્યેની અવિચળ શ્રદ્ધા એ એક અદ્રશ્ય ચમત્કારિક શક્તિ છે. કાર્ય જયારે વિકટ હોય ત્યારે ઈશ્વર અને ગુરુ સદૈવ મારી સાથે છે એવી શ્રદ્ધા આપણા ઉત્સાહ અને સંકલ્પને ટકાવી રાખે છે. કાર્યની પાછળ રહેલો હેતુ જો સતત યાદ રહે તો પ્રમાદ પ્રવેશતો નથી અને ન તો ઉત્સાહ ઓસરી જાય છે. જ્યાં સમજવાનો, શીખવાનો અને જીવનમાં કંઈક વિશેષ કરવાનો અભિગમ છે, ત્યાં ઉત્સાહ અને સંકલ્પબળ જળવાયેલાં રહે છે. પરંતુ હા, આવા અભિગમની સાથે ધીરજ અનિવાર્ય છે. જ્યાં ઉતાવળ છે ત્યાં ચંચળતા, ભય, મૂંઝવણ, ગૂંચવણ બધું હોય છે. સંકલ્પ ડગમગી જાય છે અને ભયને કારણે ઉત્સાહ ખોવાઈ જાય છે. આ બંને ગુણોને ટકાવી રાખવા માટે અન્ય લોકોના નિરુત્સાહી અને નિષેધાત્મક વલણની યથાયોગ્ય સમીક્ષા તેમજ ઉપેક્ષા પણ જરૂરી છે.
નાનામાં નાના કે મોટામાં મોટા એવા દરેક કાર્ય માટે પ.પૂ. ભાઈશ્રીમાં રહેલ અક્ષય ઉત્સાહ અને દ્રઢ સંકલ્પશક્તિ સ્પષ્ટપણે દ્રશ્યમાન થાય છે. પ.પૂ. ભાઈશ્રીને કોઈએ ક્યારેય પણ નકારાત્મનક વાત કરતા સાંભળ્યા નથી. ભાઈશ્રી તો અખંડ ઉત્સાહનો પૂંજ છે. તેઓ હંમેશા પ્રફુલ્લિત રહે છે. તેમને જોતાં જ આપણી અંદર રહેલી નકારાત્મકતા દૂર થાય છે. અને આનંદનો સંચાર થાય છે. ક્યારેય કોઈ પણ શુભ કાર્ય માટે પ.પૂ. ભાઇશ્રીએ આ કાર્ય યથાયોગ્ય રીતે પૂરું નહિ થઇ શકે એવો નકારાત્મક વિચાર કે અભિપ્રાય દર્શાવ્યો નથી. અમુક કાર્યોમાં તો પ.પૂ. ભાઈશ્રીનાં સંકલ્પબળના ફળરૂપે જાણે ચમત્કાર જ અનુભવાયા છે. એવા અનેક પ્રસંગો છે કે જેમાં પ.પૂ. ભાઈશ્રીના આ ઉત્કૃષ્ટ ગુણોના પ્રત્યક્ષ દર્શન થાય છે, કે જેના વિના અમુક કાર્યો સફળ કરવાં અસંભવિત બન્યા હોત. એમાંનાં અમુક પ્રસંગો અહીં વર્ણવ્યા છે.
(1) પરમ કૃપાળુ દેવના દેહવિલય શતાબ્દી વર્ષની ઊજવણી રૂપે, પરમ કૃપાળુ દેવનું જીવનચરિત્ર દર્શાવતું પુસ્તક, ફિલ્મ, ઓડિયો અને વિડિઓ CD વગેરે તૈયાર કરવાનું નક્કી કર્યું હતું. ડિસેમ્બર 1999 માં જયારે આ બાબતે ચર્ચા-વિચારણા થઇ રહી હતી ત્યારે, એકમાત્ર પ.પૂ. ભાઈશ્રી સિવાય દરેકે દરેક વ્યક્તિને પુસ્તક સમયસર (7 મી મે -2000) તૈયાર થવું અસંભવિત લાગ્યું હતું, અરે! સ્વયં પુસ્તકના રચયિતા પદ્મશ્રી ડૉ. કુમારપાળભાઈ દેસાઈએ પણ કહ્યું હતું કે પુસ્તક સપ્ટેમ્બર -2000 સુધીમાં તૈયાર થઈ શકશે. તેઓને પ્રસંગની અગત્યતા સમજાવી પુસ્તક સમયસર તૈયાર કરાવી આપવા માટે વિવેકપૂર્વ આગ્રહ કરવામાં આવ્યો, છતાં તેઓએ વહેલામાં વહેલા ઓગસ્ટ-2000 સુધીમાં પુસ્તક તૈયાર કરાવી આપવાની તૈયારી બતાવી. પરંતુ પ.પૂ.ભાઈશ્રીનો તો દ્રઢ નિર્ધાર હતો. ‘પુસ્તક 7મી મે -2000 સુધીમાં તૈયાર થઇ જ જવું જોઈએ, અને જો એ પ્રમાણે નહી થાય તો પુસ્તકની કોઈ કિંમત રહેશે નહિ’ એમ કહી પ.પૂ.ભાઈશ્રીએ આખી ટીમને ઉત્સાહપ્રેરક માર્ગદર્શન આપી કાર્યને સફળ બનાવવા માટે તૈયાર કરી ભાઈશ્રી જાતે કુમારપાળ દેસાઈ ને મળ્યા, પ્રિન્ટિંગ પ્રેસની પણ મુલાકાત લીધી. પ.પૂ.ભાઈશ્રીના દ્રઢ સંકલ્પશક્તિ અને અવિરત ઉત્સાહ બળથી આખરે ધ્યેય સિદ્ધ થયું અને પુસ્તક 30મી એપ્રિલ - 2000 ના રોજ તૈયાર થઇ ગયું!
(2) 26મી જાન્યુઆરી, 2001માં ભૂકંપે ગુજરાતભરમાં ખૂબ જ તારાજી સર્જી. જેમાં સૌથી વધુ અસરગ્રસ્ત ક્ષેત્ર હતું કચ્છ, પરંતુ સૌરાષ્ટ્રનાં પણ અનેક નાનાં ગામડાંઓ જાનમાલની નુકશાનીનો ભોગ બન્યાં હતાં, જેમાંનું એક ગામ હતું સાયલા તાલુકાનું લગભગ 1500ની વસ્તી ધરાવતું નીનામા, જે ભૂકંપમાં 90% તારાજ થઇ ગયું હતું. સરકાર તરફની મોટા ભાગની રાહત પ્રક્રિયા કચ્છ તરફી જ ચાલી રહી હતી. જે થોડી ઘણી રાહત સામગ્રી સૌરાષ્ટ્ર માટે આવી રહી હતી, એમાંથી પણ નીનામા ગામને ત્યાંનાં અમુક અસામાજિક તત્વોને કારણે બાકાત રાખવામાં આવ્યું હતું. ક્યાંયથી કોઈ પણ પ્રકારની મદદ ન મળતાં આ બાબત ચર્ચાનો વિષય બની.
આ વાત જયારે પ.પૂ. ભાઇશ્રીના જાણવામાં આવી અને તેઓએ નીનામાના લોકોને ખૂબ મુશ્કેલીમાં ફસાયેલા જોયાં, ત્યારે જ કરુણાસાગર પ.પૂ. ભાઇશ્રીએ નીનામા ગામને દત્તક લેવાનું નક્કી કર્યું ! તાલુકા સરપંચની અસામાજિક તત્વોને કારણે આ કામ હાથમાં ન લેવાની નકારાત્મક સલાહને નજરઅંદાજ કરતાં પ.પૂ. ભાઇશ્રીએ કહ્યું, “20 - 25 અયોગ્ય વ્યક્તિઓને કારણે બાકીના 1470-80 લોકો શા માટે મુશ્કેલી ભોગવે? તેઓને કોણ મદદ કરશે?” એ વખતે મદદ કરી શકાય એટલું ફંડ કે સાધનસામગ્રી આશ્રમ પાસે હતી નહીં. છતાં પ.પૂ. ભાઈશ્રીએ પૂરી સકારાત્મકતા અને આત્મવિશ્વાસ સાથે કાર્ય શરુ કરી દેવાનો આદેશ આપ્યો. પ્રથમ નજરે તો આવો કઠિન સંકલ્પ સિદ્ધ થવો અસંભવ જ લાગે એમ હતો. અંદાજિત ખર્ચ લગભગ રૂપિયા 300 લાખ જેટલો નીકળતો હતો! આટલી મોટી રકમની વ્યવસ્થા કેવી રીતે કરવી? કચ્છની મુલાકાતે જઈ રહેલા ગુજરાત ભૂકંપ રાહત ફંડના મુખ્ય ટ્રષ્ટિ અને વિરાયતનના એક ટ્રષ્ટિને સાયલા પધારવા વિનંતી કરવામાં આવી. તેઓની સમક્ષ નીનામા ગામની પરિસ્થિતિ વ્યવસ્થિત રીતે રજૂ કરવામાં આવી. પરિણામે તેઓએ રૂપિયા 100 લાખની સહાયની બાંહેધરી આપી. સરકારશ્રી તરફથી પણ 150 લાખની મંજૂરી મળી. હવે ફક્ત બાકીના 50 લાખ માટે ડોનેશનની જરૂરિયાત રહી. છતાં આ રકમ પણ નાની ન હતી. પ.પૂ. ભાઇશ્રીએ જરાય નકારાત્મકતા મનમાં લાવ્યા વિના, ટાઈમ્સ ઓફ ઇન્ડિયાનો સંપર્ક કરવા જણાવ્યું. ટાઈમ્સ ઓફ ઇન્ડિયા સામાન્ય રીતે પોતે જ આવા જનહિતના કાર્યો કરતું હતું, પરંતુ બીજા કોઈની સાથે ભાગીદારીમાં નહિ. છતાં પ.પૂ. ભાઇશ્રીના આદેશ અનુસાર તેના સીઈઓ સમક્ષ અસરકારક રીતે મુદ્દાની રજૂઆત કરવામાં આવી. અને સૌના આશ્ચર્ય વચ્ચે ટાઈમ્સ ઓફ ઇન્ડિયાએ 120 લાખ રૂપિયાની સહાય કરી !! પ. પૂ. ભાઇશ્રીના દ્રઢ સંકલ્પ અને આત્મવિશ્વાસને કારણે અંતે નીનામા ગામના નવનિર્માણનું કાર્ય સફળતાપૂર્વક સંપન્ન થયું.
(3) સરકારી હોસ્પિટલ CHCના નબળા તંત્રનું સફળ નવનિર્માણ સાયલા સ્થિત સરકારી હોસ્પિટલ CHC ના વહીવટને હાથ ધર્યા બાદ, તંત્રમાં ઘણાં ફેરફાર અને સુધારા કર્યા બાદ જયારે CHC નો વહીવટ સરસ અને વ્યવસ્થિત બન્યો ત્યારે સાયલાનાં અમુક અસામાજિક અને બદમાશ તત્વોએ તંત્ર વ્યવસ્થામાં કનડગત શરુ કરી. જેના કારણે સરકારી હેલ્થ ડિપાર્ટમેન્ટ એ સહકાર આપવાનો ઓછો કરી CHC માટે નકારાત્મક રિપોર્ટ આપવાનું શરુ કર્યું. આવી ઘણી બધી મુશ્કેલીઓને કારણે આખી ટીમ પરમ પૂ. ભાઈશ્રી પાસે ગઈ, અને CHC નો વહીવટ છોડી દેવા માટે વિનંતી કરી. પરંતુ કરુણાસાગર પ. પૂ. ભાઈશ્રી તો ગરીબ અને નિઃસહાય લોકોના હિત માટે ઘણા ચિંતિત હતા. તેઓશ્રીએ તો અમને દરેક મુશ્કેલીનો સામનો કરી તેનો ઉકેલ લાવવા જણાવ્યું અને કોઈ પણ જાતનો ભેદભાવ રાખ્યા વિના દરેકે દરેક લોકોની પ્રેમ અને આદરભાવ સાથે સારસંભાળ ચાલુ જ રાખવા આગ્રહ દર્શાવ્યો. તેઓશ્રીને તેમનામાં રહેલા દ્રઢ આત્મવિશ્વાસને કારણે ખાતરી હતી કે મુશ્કેલીઓનું નિરાકરણ અવશ્ય થશે જ. અને આખરે ખરેખર ભાઈશ્રીના દ્રઢ સંકલ્પબળ અને ઉત્સાહભર્યા આત્મવિશ્વાસને કારણે બધી જ મુશ્કેલીઓ દૂર થઇ અને CHC માટે ખૂબ સકારત્મક રિપોર્ટ બનવાના શરુ થઇ ગયા. અને આજે આ જ CHC એ રાજ્યની લગભગ 300 CHC ઓમાં અગ્રીમ સ્થાન ગ્રહણ કર્યું છે! આ એક જ CHC એવી છે કે જ્યાં ગાયનેક, સર્જન, પેડિયાટ્રિશિયન, વિગેરે જેવા અનેક સ્પેશ્યલિલિસ્ટ અને અનુભવી ડોક્ટરો આખો દિવસ સારવાર આપે છે.

Since 1987, annual eye-camps are regularly held at the premises of Sayla Ashram of Shree Rajsaubhag Satsang Mandal. Our divinely benevolent Sadguruji, Param Pujya Bhaishree (Bhaishree), seeing the distress of unfortunate souls suffering from eye-related ailments, was very keen to set up an eye hospital in the Sayla region, which, in those days, was even devoid of basic healthcare infrastructure.
In 2006, inspired by London's mumukshu Shri Arunbhai Doshi, his close relative, Shri Manubhai Sanghrajka approached Bhaishree to donate a large sum of money with a splendid idea of setting-up a full-fledged eye hospital at the Sayla Village. Bhaishree enthusiastically accepted Manubhai's noble offer of this donation, and plans were immediately drawn-up to construct an eye hospital at Sayla.
Meanwhile, one of Manubhai's friends, who himself was operating an eye hospital under his Trust in Limbdi, met Manubhai. In casual conversation, Manubhai talked to him about his contemplated donation in Sayla for the aforementioned eye hospital. The gentleman, being very close to Manubhai, warned him, "In my opinion, you are taking a very wrong decision. I, myself, am running an eye hospital in a City like Limbdi, and we are barely conducting ten (10) operations per month. Fate of such an eye hospital, and that too in a small Village like Sayla, would definitely be bleak. Why you are wasting such a large sum of money?"
However, Manubhai did not flinch by such a detrimental opinion, even though it came from a close friend. His confidence and faith in Bhaishree were just unshakable. Manubhai stuck to his decision like the "Rock of Gibraltar," since Bhaishree had personally assured him of excellent results of his noble gesture.
Bhaishree even planned the inauguration ceremony of the Sayla Eye Hospital very meticulously and effectively. He invited religious and prominent leaders of the Sayla Taluka and also from the Villages of the region. Bhaishree, confidently and enthusiastically, appraised them about the state-of-the-art modern medical facilities and equipment available at the Sayla Eye Hospital, which was at par with facilities available at any Metro City.
Resulting from Bhaishree's robust determination and contagious enthusiasm, today, after a short span of only about ten (10) years, the Sayla Eye Hospital is consistently and successfully conducting almost five hundred (500) operations per month! Moreover, due to the lack of space within the ever-growing old Sayla Eye Hospital, a brand new and a much larger Eye Hospital facility has already been recently inaugurated at Sayla!

1987ની સાલથી દર વર્ષે શ્રી રાજસૌભાગ સત્સંગ મંડળના સાયલા આશ્રમના પ્રાંગણમાં નેત્ર-યજ્ઞનું આયોજન થતું આવે છે. સાયલાની આસપાસના પ્રદેશમાં પ્રાથમિક સારવાર પૂરતી પણ સવલતોના અભાવે, નેત્રરોગોથી પીડાતા દુર્ભાગી જીવોને જોતાં, અપાર કરુણાવાન અને ઋજુહૃદયી પ. પૂ. ભાઇશ્રીના અંતઃકરણમાં સાયલામાં આંખની હોસ્પિટલ બનાવવાની ઈચ્છા જાગી.
2006ની સાલમાં લંડનના મુમુક્ષુ શ્રી અરુણભાઈ દોશીની પ્રેરણાથી તેમના એક નજીકના સગા શ્રી મનુભાઈ સંઘરાજકા ભાઈશ્રી પાસે આવ્યા અને તેઓએ આંખની હોસ્પિટલ માટે ખૂબ જ મોટી રકમ દાન કરવાની ઈચ્છા વ્યક્ત કરી. ભાઈશ્રીએ તેમની ઉમદા ભાવના અને ધગશને સહર્ષ સ્વીકારી અને સાયલામાં આંખની હોસ્પિટલના બાંધકામનું આયોજન શરુ થઇ ગયું.
દરમિયાન, મનુભાઈને એમના એક નજીકના મિત્રને મળવાનું થયું, કે જેઓ પોતે પોતાના જ ટ્રસ્ટ હેઠળ લીંબડી ખાતે આંખની હોસ્પિટલ ચલાવતા હતા. વાતવાતમાં તેઓને મનુભાઈના સાયલા ખાતેની આંખની હોસ્પિટલ માટેના મોટા યોગદાનની જાણ થઇ. તેઓના મનુભાઈ સાથે ઘનિષ્ઠ સંબંધ હોવાથી, તેઓએ મનુભાઈને કહ્યું, “તમે ઘણો ખોટો નિર્ણય લઇ રહ્યા છો. હું લીંબડી જેવા શહેરમાં આંખની હોસ્પિટલ ચલાવું છું, છતાંય અમને મહિનાના માંડ 10 ઓપરેશનો મળે છે. તો સાયલા જેવા નાના ગામડાંમાં આંખની હોસ્પિટલનું શું ભવિષ્ય હોઈ શકે? તમે શા માટે આટલી મોટી રકમ વેડફી રહ્યા છો?”
પરંતુ મનુભાઈને તો પ.પૂ. ભાઈશ્રીમાં પૂર્ણ વિશ્વાસ અને શ્રદ્ધા હતા જ. ભાઇશ્રીએ પણ તેઓને આ સુંદર કાર્યના ખૂબ જ સારા અને ઊંચા પરિણામો આવશે જ તેની પાક્કી ખાત્રી આપી હતી.
પ.પૂ. ભાઇશ્રીએ આંખની હોસ્પિટલના ઉદ્દઘાટન પ્રસંગનું આયોજન પણ ખૂબ વિચારપૂર્વક બધાજ મુદ્દાઓને લક્ષમાં રાખીને કર્યું. તેઓએ બધાં જ ધર્મોના અગ્રણીઓને, તેમજ સાયલા તાલુકા અને આજુબાજુના ગામોના આગેવાનોને, ખૂબ ભાવભર્યું આમંત્રણ આપ્યું. તેઓએ સૌને ખૂબ જ આત્મવિશ્વાસ, ઉત્સાહ અને આનંદપૂર્વક આંખની હોસ્પિટલની અત્યાધુનિક સુવિધાઓ અને સાધન સવલતો વિષે માહિતગાર કર્યા.
પ.પૂ. ભાઇશ્રીના એ દ્રઢ સંકલ્પબળ અને અવિરત ઉત્સાહને પરિણામે, આજે 10 વર્ષ બાદ, આંખની હોસ્પિટલમાં દર મહિને 500થી વધુ સફળ ઓપરેશનો થઇ રહ્યા છે! આ ઉપરાંત, હવે હોસ્પિટલની જગ્યા નાની પડતાં, વિશાળ જગ્યામાં તેનું નવનિર્માણ થઇ, હાલમાં જ તેનું ઉદઘાટન પણ થઈ ચૂક્યું છે..!
“સત્પુરુષોનું યોગબળ જગતનું કલ્યાણ કરો” - પ. પૂ. ભાઇશ્રીએ પોતાના સંકલ્પબળથી આ શબ્દોને સાકાર કરી બતાવ્યા છે.
